Welcome everyone to our fortnightly update.
The 2025 National Rural Carriers Convention officially kicks off today, and we couldn't be more excited to have you join us for what’s shaping up to be an incredible two-day event. Hosted by the LBRCA, this event is not only an opportunity to connect, learn, and network but also a special celebration marking 40 years of the ALRTA!
With over 370 industry professionals already registered, it's fantastic to see the interest in this year’s conference. From discussions on the future of rural transport to opportunities to test drive the latest vehicles at Thoroughbred Park, this event is jam-packed with valuable content and some fun stuff too!
Make sure you check out our panel discussions on critical industry topics, our Rural Transport Rising Star Award, and the Livestock Conversion Challenge (get ready to show off your skills!). And don't miss the chance to unwind during our Friday night entertainment, including the famous bucking bull challenge and 'Back to the 80s' themed dinner!
Saturday's ALRTA 40th Anniversary Gala will be an unforgettable evening as we reflect on the incredible journey of our association and the industry, and we’ll have a great time honouring the individuals who’ve helped shape our community over the years.
Adding to the hype around Canberra this week the Prime Minister announced the date for the federal election on May 3rd. Both major parties have come out swinging with Labor announcing some big infrastructure commitments and the Coalition announcing another fuel tax cut. The devil will be in the detail on both sides, and we will update you all over the coming weeks to ensure you are well informed on these important industry commitments.
We look forward to connecting with you over the next two days!
See you at Thoroughbred Park!
Until next time, stay safe.
Anthony.
